I was once in peckham with my two best friends, we were walking through the streets at night when we heard a loud bang. Two men in hoodies walked towards us from across the street and one of them pulled out something from their jacket, I didn't see what it was but I directly grabbed my friends hands and we started to run, we got away luckily enough. Another time I was just out shopping when I could see two guys handing each other what looked like drugs, I have seen drug dealers, murderers, and more here. I have lived here now sixteen years, born and raised, luckily I am alive but there is no way I'm raising my kids here. As soon as I'm old enough I'm moving.

Peckham? I lived there for 13 and a half years. Luckily, I know some members of peckham so they're kind to me. But get on their wrong side, and your one way ticket to hell is delivered. Drugs, knives, guns and murder was probably just the few things that peckham has to offer, almost every part of it is full of thugs, dealers or new bloods that are soon to be killers. Stay away because it's your best option for you and the people you love.

No way number one it's just a bunch of yuppies everywhere. Have a look at grahame park in north west London. This was the biggest estate in Europe before they started knocking down some of the 300+ blocks that are there. The difference here is it's not gang crime, it's the people with no will to live but the courage to have shoot outs with police. Death and drugs are more than a day to day occurrence, especially when armed police are not available. But then this is why I'm sure no one has heard of it.

Hackney can't even compare to peckham, I hear all this about brixton and hackney but even the youths here that barely have an inch of hair on their face are killing each other. Peckham is called Pecknarm because just like the Vietnam war, there is blood, violence and death. I've even seen people carry machetes and guns, muggings happen on a daily basis and gangs most of peckham is populated by gangs and the unfortunate people that are there.

Peckham is a disgusting place. if you live there you're basically done out. it's an awful city and I don't understand why anyone would wish to live there. it is a horrible place, it's a dump, it stinks and it's full of nittys. Disgusting place, if I grew up there I would want to escape and live somewhere else. Suprised how half of these kids grow old enough to stay/live there. Like I said, it's completely awful and I'm not suprised on why it's rated as the most dangerous place. FUll of disgusting people and disgusting environment. Have a nice day.

Peckham has had huge improvements over the past 10 years or so. I live in the borders of Peckham (Peckham rye) and it has recently become a much nicer, more pleasant and overall more popular and safe plAce to live. Peckham has some lovely roads, for example bellenden road which has really brought up the area and also the rye park is a very nice and popular place to spend weekend afternoons

Obviously the first! Have been here for many times unfortunately, thanks God I'm alive! Gang youth squads going down the street, black men loosing drugs in two steps from you + awful environment, dirty streets. Nice picture, isn't it? My advice is AVOID visiting the area without a huge need, especially white people, I beg, don't even think of walking around in Peckham!

This place is definitely one of the more dodgy areas of London people carry machetes and sometimes even firearms around the districts centre. At night when I was driving through Peckham I drove past a few body's that were lying in the road quite allot if times. I would avoid this place as just as much as I would avoid hackney and Brixton

Lived in peckham for 10 years I thought it was alright. They have a lot of 6 bedroom flats there. Till someone try burgaling me in a hostel and sliced my hand after I struggled with the knife he held to my throat. when I moved out my parents and Southwark council made it worst to tell me to go fend for myself. Then I ended up homeless. My family are still there someone try set the family house on fire and so many African men approaching you for stuff. It can be alright being there at time I just think it's how you carry yourself. Keep your head down. - Anon2
