Although I do agree with that with a few exceptions, it couldn't over power this. Not in a million years. Nevermind or any Nirvana album or even further than that any grunge album, or even further than that any damn album on the planet can't match the dark, evil and traumatized tones that the band perfectly delivers on this album. If you like grunge for its dark and murky side, you can't go wrong with Alice in Chains, every album (but especially Dirt), are masterpieces.

From the opening Them Bones until the perfect ending of Would, no human on this planet would hate, I mean its just impossible, all folks who know real music have just totally attached to this album. I'm 28 now, I fell in love in to this album 16 years ago... until now it is my favorite album and band of time... Pure emotion and pure talent in this album... just unbelievable album, masterpiece

Very relatable if you have chronic depression and/or take drugs to try and self medicate. Beautiful, ugly and real. Not a bad song on the album, even though rain when I die is one that underwhelms me a bit, every other song is really great. Not that rain when I die is a bad song, it just doesn't sound as good as he rest of the album in my opinion.

Staley's Voice, The Mind-Bending, Deep, Dingy Lyrics, Cantrell's Winding, Grinding, Distorted guitar leads.. the whole vibe of Dirt is unlike anything else I've heard and has influenced me with my own music very much. A fantastic album but as another said, not for the faint of heart. This is why Nevermind is above Dirt, Nevermind was better suited for mainstream popularity.R.I.P. Layne, A True Artist
