This is a joke, right? I've lived in 7 states, visited 32 others. Minnesota (where I currently live) is by far the WORST state in the U.S. with the biggest jerks ever. Walk down the street and 3 out of 4 people will not say hello back when you say hi. They are mean, demeaning, foul, disgruntled people. Everywhere. Every store is bad. Non-profits are horrible. Churches suck. Now if you visit from out of state during a big thing like Super Bowl they all become very FAKE and ACT nice. They're not. Minnesotans are passive-aggressive, acting kind but in truth being very mean and will screw you no matter what. The Twin Cities are the worst, Rochester isn't much better, some small towns might be better but overall Minnesota is a horrible state. - MarkStevens

I have lived in Minnesota since I was in 7th grade. Then moved back east where most of my family lives because I never felt like I belonged in Minnesota. I moved back to Minnesota 12 years ago and still currently live in Minnesota I am now 41 years old single for 4 years now. And I can not find love nor can I find a good group of people to hang around because no one has been welcoming. Nice yes but fake nice. Not welcoming or belonging. And every one wants to feel like they belong. I am not happy here at all.

I usually would not comment on silly lists like this but reading the negative things people are writing makes me upset. There are kind and mean people in every state and to answer the person who said he has been in 32 other states so have I and so have other people. I have also traveled over half way around the world so what. It is true I find Minnesotans to be some of the kindest and nicest people and that's why I choose to stay in this beautiful state.

Have you ever heard of Minnesota Nice? It's a real thing. There are many good qualities of Minnesota and its people. They are nice, generous, polite, helpful, considerate, hospitable, mindful and many more. And plus, it's a beautiful place, with all those thousands of lakes and forests decorating the state. When I was young, I thought Texas was friendliest state (I was like 5 or 6) and only knew a handful such as Texas, Cali, NY, Louisiana, and very few others. I've been to all 50 states and Wash, DC. Minnesota and Alaska are HANDS DOWN the friendliest states in the country! There must be an inverse relationship to weather and friendliness (the colder the weather, the friendlier the people...makes sense - they NEED you in those places).

Minnesota nice is no joke. I have lived on the east coast, west coast and in the south and Minnesota takes the cake. People are always willing to help you out. Even in the brutal winters people are still happy and nice.
