I am an aussie, and this flag has some serious issues. The first thing people see when they look at it is Britain. The union jack is meant to symbolise "the first people in Australia" which is incredibly racist to Aboriginal people. Then there's the Southern cross, which we Aussies think is something unique to us. ALL COUNTRIES IN THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE HAVE THOSE BLOODY STARS, it's not unique. The big star again represents Britain - it;s the commonwealth star, the commonwealth being all countries that were under British rule.I love Australia, but the flag needs to be tinkered with.
