One particular whipping-boy here seems to be A Christmas Story 2, and I'm not here to dispute that choice. (after all, any movie that goes directly to dvd without a theatrical release can't be ALL GOOD. )What's especially perverse about this is that there already was a sequel. My Summer Story (aka It Runs In The Family) concerns Ralphie's adventures the following summer. it took a decade so it's a whole new cast - Kieran Culkin as Ralphie, Charles Gorden and Mary Steenburgen as his parents - but it is nonetheless a much worthier follow-up and a textbook case of a "lost" film that should've gotten a chance.It's worth seeing if only because Bob Clark and Jean Shepherd are still at the helm.
