I highly enjoyed this film... at first. Retrospectively, it kind of got worse, especially after learning that Disney, under Kathleen Kennedy had no input or plan on what to do with Star Wars.It's a shame really. It looks fantastic, that's for sure, and, heck, it's the only film in the Sequel Trilogy that I can enjoy, but beyond that, this film was hardly good if you ask me. Fun film, yeah, but nowhere near the best of 2015. It doesn't help in that this film retrospectively renders the overall conclusion of the Original Trilogy moot and pointless, which just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. - CrimsonShark

I really hope the people who voted for this are right. It is definitely one of the biggest and most hyped movies this year, but don't count your chickens before they've hatched. Won't it be embarrassing to vote for this and then Disney botches this? Wait for the movie to be amazing and THEN vote for it. This is not me taking away from how good this movie COULD be, as I have high expectations and hopes for this movie as well, and it could be awesome. I just think that it is not a good idea to assume it will be amazing, which I would say for any unreleased movie, not just this one. Combine that with the fact that it is being made by a different producer and company and such, and you shouldn't just already say this is gonna be the movie of the year. Also, if you read this after the movie is out, how was it? Haha

I have always loved the star wars movies (which means the originals, not the prequels), and when I first heard it was being made by Disney, I was a little worried. I mean Disney is Disney, so I was afraid they would botch it up or something. Boy, was I wrong. I know this might sound crazy, but I almost like this one better than the 4th one. Let's face it the 4th one and the 7th one are almost the same movie. Same structure. The only three differences I can see, are that the "death star" or whatever they call is like a planet now and not a moon, there are new characters in this movie, while also keeping old classic characters, and they can make jokes about the originals, that they couldn't make in the originals, as how could a single movie, make jokes about a movie that would come out almost 4 decades later. And for these three reasons, I think this movie is almost better than the original. It may be better than the 4th, but there is no way this one is better than the 5th. The Empire ... more - cbrann10

Even though the story lacks a little bit of originality which is kinda disappointing but it wasn't much of an issue cause I thought the rest of the movie was amazing. It's definitely a Star Wars movie a lot of us have been waiting to see. After the disappointment of Phantom Menace, The Force Awakens is the total opposite of it. A movie that proves that from all the hype and anticipation it was totally worth the wait. Great acting, great dialogue, great humor, awesome action scenes, brilliant visual effects, some nostalgic and emotional moments and another terrific musical score from none other than John Williams. NO! No! This is the most overrated movie ever. It's full of cliche's, mary sues, and worst of all it lacks originality. The plot was the same thing as episode 4. Instead of the realistic and brave Luke Skywalker we get a Mary sue character, Rey. Nothing happens to her. She just so happens to be able to mind control and use the force in only one day! She just so happens to beat a sith in training even though she only touched a lightsaber once in her life. Finn was the Jar Jar Binks of the film. They brought in the death star back AGAIN! It was full of coincidence and lazy writing. And what they did to the original trilogy was unforgivible. Leai is just an old woman. Han solo was degraded from a war hero to a smuggler again! And what they did to Luke was unforgivible! He is supposed to never give up. When he failed in the Empire Strikes back, he came back stronger in Return of the Jedi. As many have said, main plot may have been replicated from Star Wars (1977) but it's still every bit as enjoyable as a cinematic experience can get, this films has it all; acting was great from all cast members, characters were intriguing and greatly portrayed - extra credit goes to Daisy's Ridley's performance of Rey who is one of the best and most interesting characters to come out of the franchise so far - visually memorising with a good mixture of visual and practical effects and great costume/makeup designing that really brough the film to life. The best thing however, was the fact that the 'magic' of Star Wars was present throughout the whole film, the end scene with Luke and Rey gave me goosbumps and created the exact same 'staring at the screen without breathing for 5 whole minutes' atmosphere that many moments in originals created, all in all an amazing film and definitely worthy of the hype...

I literally just came on to this list just knowing this would be at the top. I mean, come on. It's Starwars. I would have loved this movie except for one little tiny detail. Spoiler ahead: THEY KILLED HAN SOLO! YOU can't JUST DO THAT! WHY! I was crying so hard! Literally no movie has ever made me cry besides one dog movie where the dog died waiting for his dead master to come home. But that's besides the point. Great actors, besides stupid baby face Kylo Ren. Grrr. Other than that part I LOVED this movie. Glad the stuck to the original a bit, or a lot. Very similar features.

I saw this movie and it was awesome! it wasn't all "special effects" like the crappy prequel trilogy, It's the 2nd best Star Wars movie yet (Revenge of the Sith is better) And it's got me begging for episode 8. The screenplay and the Action is amazing! My favorite part was when Kylo Ren Rey engaged in a major light saber battle! In fact I saw the force awakens 6 times in the span of a week. JJ Abrahams did a good job directing as if George Lucas did it there would have been too many special effects. Very creative. Pretty soon this will be the greatest movie of all time!
