I still think he's the best, but I think he needs to retire the character. What used to be high-quality production-value videos are now replaced by mostly "let's plays" and Mike Matei reviews. James has ran out of old stuff to review as AVGN. He's also gotten married and had a kid. He's growing up. You can see how bored and detached he is in the let's play videos. You can tell he wants to move on with his life, but this AVGN / video gaming stuff is holding him down like a boat anchor. It's just too profitable to let go of for sanity's sake. Mike should spin-off his own channel, since he clearly still likes hanging out in video game land. James should produce one last AVGN finale that just blows everyone's socks off, then put the character to rest and call it a day. Move on with his life and not feel pressured to puppy-mill out more AVGN. (Then he could do an AVGN once every now and then when he wanted to, like a Christmas special, not because he felt compelled to. ) You can just tell ... more

James is actually a huge inspiration to me with being a collector and a director, I even have his autograph displayed on my game shelf (yeah he is that awesome). James is one of the best directors and gamer I have ever seen, heck he even has a full featured film AND his own video game coming out hopefully within the next year, long story short "he's gonna take you back to the past"...
