This is by far the best "Tales of" I have ever had the pleasure to encounter. This game has all qualities that make this not only a classic, but a monumental achievement in RPG history. Although I may be bias, for I have played this game since I was young, I have never failed to discover more reasons to love it as the years go by. Character development that forces you to love them, story line that is awe-inspiring and in depth, and loads of side quests and little Easter eggs to keep you entertained. The story line and relationships in the game changes with the choices you make. There are so many other characteristics of this game I could ramble on about, but the short version of it is simply this: This game is a must have for those who love timeless stories and not fancy graphics that look good just because its in new wrapping paper.

Honestly the best one, having played them all. Tales of vesperia is probably the closest for it also has some amazing gameplay along with the storyline. I felt abyss was too confusing with the storyline and the characters did not impress. Luke was a terrible main character, Guy all the way. Not only that the stupid fon-tech and fon-machines and seventh fonists will give you a headache. Symphonia has easy to relate to characters, and easily the best storyline, (again close call with vesperia). The world is massive and has so many more places you can go to than abyss. I have no idea why that is number 1. Honestly lloyd/yuri best main character ever.

Only reason this is behind Vesperia is because of the next gen console, there for more people had probably heard about it. This is simply the best because the plot was exiting and plot twists wern't obvious. Plus each character is so unique and overall there is so many life lessons to learn from this game

It's got a grand, engaging, and massive narrative (that gives the player a lot of control over it's outcomes), it has an awesome art style, a phenomenal soundtrack, and an unbelievabley well-rounded and smartly designed battle system, along with interesting overworlds. The cream of the crop for sure.

Great story, amazing gameplay, and loveable characters. What more can you want out of a game? Lloyd Irving is a great "idiot with a heart of gold" protagonist, and some of those plot twists... Well if you played it, you know.
