This Battlefield has the most thought-out multiplayer of all games. It might be simple in many aspects, but that's why it worked. Pratically everything was balanced out in a "risk-reward" mechanic, vehicles felt powerful, but still vulnerable, and team work always won the day. It had a fantastic selection of maps that all worked great with the main mode, Rush, and had a lot of care put into the sound design. In no other game can you plan around after recognizing that the guy screaming next door is an engineer or a recon. All of this combined made for an extremely fun experience.

I loved Bad Co. 2. The single player was fun and had a decent story, and was a good way to get a hang of mechanics. The multiplayer was what was the best part. Not too fast, or slopw, it was balanced, and it relied on real teamwork. Pilots couldn't be successful without gunners, cars were almost useless without other people in it, etc, etc. The classes all had use too. Snipers could spot and take out targets far away, engineers were there for vehicles, assault was there for just power, and medics could heal and bring teammates from the dead. Also, I loved the vehicles. All had advantages and disadvantages.

The best if the franchise. Somehow with an older frostbite engine, it pulls off destructible buildings better than 3/4. Nothing like lobbing a carl gustov into a straw hut and watching the whole thing disappear. Hiding inside a house is never safe against vehicles. The levels are designed much better, especially rush, which weren't just conquest maps that someone turned into a rush mode, they were maps designed around rush and so had a waay better feel and progression. Obviously there was some change in management or design when they switched from bad company to bf3/4.

I completely agree with this one being first on the list and kinda happy bf3 didn't climb over its rank. This game hands down is my favorite Battlefield game ever! Looking back and taking notes on what they did right with this game, in my opinion are/is, the soundtrack, very memorable orchestra and each level had its own unique sound, (personal favorite: that one desert map I forgot the name of), the sound effects were pretty spot on as well. The visuals, especially the vibrant colors, that mixed well with the diversity of the maps, (another thing they did right with this game, diversity), bright green jungles, snowy towns and forest, day and nighttime, jungles, Russian forest in the season of fall, scrap yards and ships. The destruction, nearly every single building in this game wasn't safe, even the ground takes damage! Bad Company 2 had the BEST BEST BEST BEEESST multiplayer in any game I have ever played ever. I still remember so many great moments playing that game with friends. The maps were superb, better than all the BF3/BF4 maps. The best thing about the maps was EVERYTHING was destructible and there was FAR more natural foliage for cover (unlike in BF3/BF4 where most of the maps are either giant fields with barely any cover or huge cities with barely any destruction). Just remake Bad Company 2 EA and keep everything the same, maybe add new guns, new vehicles, and perchance 64 players on the field as well?(If you messed with the hardcore mode I would cry myself to sleep. I liked being able to put 3-5 rounds into a guys chest and have him drop dead instead of an entire effing clip only to have him spin around and head shot me with 1% health left. It makes cover all the more important when you can die quickly and adds more strategy).

The graphics were ground breaking. EVERY map was fantastic, unlike BF3 where there were some maps where one the play could be stuck for ages on on point of play (e.G. Metro).This game had it all - strategy, team play, fun, skill and the list goes on.It didn't try to overload on weapons and hence complexity. The philosophy was simple - concentrate on game play and the rest will follow.There probably will never be another Battlefield like it.

The best campaign EVER. The character were funny and non-generic. You kept on going back for more and, at least in my opinion, a huge cliffhanger. The multiplayer felt almost perfect and extremely fun once you got good at it. I play it on my 360 and sadly, there aren't a lot of people but I still have fun playing rush. I want BC3 so bad but I also don't want them to mess up. I would recommend this game to anyone with a PS3, Xbox 360, or a PC. It is also $20 (at least on Steam)

Most fun Battlefield game I have ever played. The Campaign was very entertaining, and really got you into the characters. It had the best DLC, that wasn't completely overpriced like the more recent boyfriend games. The online multiplayer was absolutely perfect. Perfect balancing of foot soldiers vs vehicle warfare. To me, the best online first-person shooter of all time.

The best Battlefield game ever no doubt!Game was very balanced every class was usefull also the community is/was great people working hard together to capute flags or objectives.Guns had a fair amount of recoil maps where amazing as wel with very much details you could destroy almost everything the engine was just a 10/10,Untill today this game hasn't been beaten!Vehicles where very much balanced as wel not unlike battlefield 3 where any desant jetpilot could tear up a whole team.all in all a fantastic game the NR1 in the list for a very good reason.

I really wanted to love BF3, but it just doesn't have the same feel as BFBC2. BF3 feels like it is trying to be a Modern warfare knockoff. BFBC2 fells more like it requires more team work and strategy than BF3. The multiplayer in BF3 feels more linear, in that it seems like everyone is more interested in kill to death ratio than accomplishing team objectives. I hope BF4 is more like BFBC2 than BF3.
