As with many others I also grew up watching Spongebob - I remember when Spongebob was a cheerful, naive Sponge and Patrick was a charming, ditzy starfish - now it's just Spongebob being an idiot, Patrick being a mean-spirited idiot and Mr Krabbs overtaking Plankton in how evil he is (I didn't like Mr Krabbs anyway, but he's too much now). The show has really changed for the worse. Shame really...

SpongeBob had a good run, emphasis on HAD. If this show were made for adults, as it was clearly meant to be looking back on some of the humor, it would probably be better. Make this a no-holds-barred comedy series and it can hopefully continue on. Its status as a kiddie show only limits it.

The movie was a perfect conclusion, having it go on further is pointless. They didn't originally intend for a 4th season, so the episodes from that season and beyond had very little of the original staff, because they believed it ended and then moved on to other projects. - Hellagaygru
