Sitting on the porch with my grandpa in 1973 I watched him put a dip of snuff in his mouth. He saw the Curiosity in my eyes and asked if I wanted to try it. Of course my answer was "heck yeah". I didn't much like it the first time but a few days later I tried it again. The next thing you know I'm digging through the sofa cushions for pocket change so I could go by myself a can of Copenhagen. The original Copenhagen. I don't go for none of that flavored crap. Of course it wasn't but about $0.25 a can back then. I was a member of the original Copenhagen Gold Diamond Club. Other than that... I just hope Copenhagen never gets away from using the original paper can!

I'm 51 years old and probably been dipping snuff since I was 14 or 15. Started with Skoal wintergreen and switched to Copenhagen after about 2 years. I've never even heard of half the brands that are listed in this review. I was a loyal Copenhagen man but when I was 24 I broke my jaw and had to have it wired shut for close to 3 months. I couldn't use regular Cope then because it was cut so fine it just wouldn't stay in my lip so I tried the pouches which I really didn't care for so then I tried the Cope long cut and that was the ticket, the longer cut actually stayed in place with my jaw being wired. Then after about 10 years on the long cut it started to get so expensive that I had to try something different. I think Cope was around $.40 or $.50 a can when I started and now it was $5.00 a can which is just plain ridiculous so after trying all the cheaper versions out there I finally tried Red Seal and that was the closest thing to Copenhagen and it was half the price and came in a ... more

My first pinch was Copenhagen Snuff at the age of 11. Since then, my palette has changed quite a bit, and I choose to dip Copenhagen wintergreen on a daily basis. On special occasions, or when I feel like it really...I'll buy a can of snuff. That usually turns into weeks or months of only Copenhagen snuff. Then I go back to wintergreen. Copenhagen straight is a nice change from time to time as well. Regardless of flavor choice, Copenhagen is a far superior product. I've had them all, and Cope is still the best. In particular, Copenhagen Snuff is the best. On the side of loose leaf chew, Levi Garrett takes the cake.

First time I had a dip was Skoal Straight at first I was like what is this nasty. The second dip I ever had was probably like a week later I was with my dad and one of my dads friends pulled out a can of copenhagen wintergreen and put him one in, and looks at me and goes "you want one? " so he packs the can for me and I get me a dip and is was amazing every since that day I have been dipping copenhagen wintergreen. It's my everyday dip. And for chew my favorite is Starr Original.

Hands down the greatest moist snuff every made in my opinion. Copenhagen lives to all of its standards and sticks to its traditions. Never once have I opened an in date can of Cope and been displeased. Perfect blend of tart and smooth for those who enjoy the original flavors like me. For those who enjoy the minty flavors Cope is still a good choice. From what I've noticed the cut is a little different for LC WG than LC Orig, not that its bad or anything. I'd say all around Copenhagen has all brands beat by 200% and need not improve on anything because its already perfect.

Honestly I gotta say, Cope is the best. I used to dip Longhorn because it was cheap, but now that I tried Cope, I know Copenhagen is worth the few extra dollars. I really like their Mint flavor probably because I'm a big Mint and Wintergreen flavor guy. I don't think they have fruity flavors but they have like straight tobacco flavors and stuff like that. Copenhagen is smooth, it lasts longer and it is a bit more, but it's worth it.

In my opinion, Copenhagen is the only dip out there worth dipping, no other brand even compares in the areas that Copenhagen produces. It's not too expensive and has the best quality in both cans and contents. The flavor is spot on with the actual thing (for example: the mint dip actually tastes like chewing a mint leaf). So, if you're a first time dipper of an experienced dipper, I would definitely recommend Copenhagen.

I have been dipping since I was 16. I have always Dipped Copenhagen and tried a few others. But Copenhagen is and always will be my go too. I was doing the wintergreen long cut. I have moved onto the mint. The flavor is strong and smooth. It last a while and definitely comes with some juice. Others just seem to dry my mouth out. Copenhagen mint is just the best chew I have ever had. Hands down

I just started using pouches (I know, not as good as the loose kinds). I've tried Cop, Grizzly and Skoal regular mint and bandits. My preference is Cop and Grizzly for taste. Skoal seems dryer in the pouches at least. Bandits seemed the same as Skoal regular pouches but the smaller pouch makes it not last as long as the others. Bandits are also harder to find where I'm at.

Not even close, Cope Long Cut Straight is the best I have ever had. Moist, and has a light discernible cognac taste to my pallet. A real connoisseur's pick. I hate anything mint, I like tobacco flavor. Once I had long horn long cut straight and was quite surprised at decent quality for less than 2 bucks. I'd buy that again if in a pinch, sorry for the pun
