Barbarosa (Excellent, Excellent), Blade Runner, My Favorite Year, Fanny Alexander and Moonlighting all have 100% approval ratings on Rotten Tomatoes which is very rare for most older movies. Since current ones are at the time popular and then after time lose that rating. Not very important, but interesting. Seen all five of these 1982 Masterpieces and I approve. You must view all five of them sometime in your life. Along with Diner, The Verdict and Victor/Victoria all of which just missed the 100% score. Oh yes I forgot Richard Pryor Live On The Sunset Strip which also scored 100% and is still the best Stand up comedy film of all time and for good reason. Now that's quality!

Let us not forget "The Year of Living Dangerously" this is any bit as good as Shawshank. Yes 1994 had some excellent quality films but 1982 had much more than 1994. It was shear amazing that a year had such films that were of higher quality and were either excellent or very good. Never may we see such a year where it seemed that Hollywood was on top of it's game. I have to say The Beastmaster being an exception to that list but it was a low budget spoof on Conan type films and was entertaining and just silly. Last American Virgin was also funny but no Fast Times which still stands as the high school teen movie and is an excellent/quality comedy. I don't believe Rocky 3 is the best Rocky sequel (IMPO) but still good and entertaining. "Best Little Whorehouse In Texas", "Missing" and "Fanny and Alexander" were smaller films, but guess what, they to are actually very good or excellent. It just seemed that so many films from 1982 where just excellent or good. And what can we say about ... more
