BJJ is such a great set of techniques, that you know exactly what to do when the fight hits the ground. In a normal given situation, the fight almost always goes to the ground. The people with Stand-up (No offense! ) do not usually have that proper skillset to keep the fight on their feet, as opposed to BJJ knowing exactly how to get the guy to the ground, and gain the control necessary. From there he can choose from literal hundreds of techniques he could perform, as opposed to Boxing where it seems like the two are just punching. Taekwondo doesn't traditionally use weapons hence its name the way of the foot and the fist and grappling isn't taught everywhere. Those who teach taekwondo with grappling are likely to a have learned judo or hapkido.Ninjutsu isn't technically a martial art it is a set of skills but still has combat, the problem is its not very common. Kung fu is too generic so its hard to judge, but it is almost always striking or otherwise circular movements that wouldn't be very effective. Though karate was supposed to be designed for defenseless and weaker opponents the main goal is strinking with force and power, which really makes no sense. Muay Thai is for stong people and doesn't work against grappling. krav maga is great butis hard to find and doesn't fit the ground where US police say 90% of fights end up on the street. Although I am a mma fighter and I train Wrestling with a university so it's legit as well as muay Thai with my mma gym with a pro muay Thai fighter I enjoy BJJ the most. BJJ not only is a very useful self defense technique but so much fun and also is a martial art where you can test it out in live Rolls which is basically like the real thing without punching.

In a one on one situaton it is un-arguably the best, name one person from a single martial art that has beaten a bjj guy, look up the gracie challege or just look at the first ufc, Tae Kwon Do is ok better than that kung fu crap, but muay Thai would own vs Tae Kwon Do and nither of them could beat a grappler, Judo and wrestling are great too
