I own a pro preferred and an a2000. In my opinion these are two of the best gloves you can buy. Many of my friends told my that the a2000 was some what soft and wouldn't last as long as my pro preferred. So I did some reading and found out that the mass produced a2000 are all broke in prior to sale. So I ended up getting a custom one and added the pro stiff leather. Now when some people say they broke their glove in, in under two weeks that tells me that it will be a pancake in a year. Also if you have a child that you are looking to buy a ball glove for I would rec-amend one of the gold gloves made buy rawlings or a heart of the hide.

At this level of quality, Rawlings and Wilson are neck and neck. I personally prefer the heart of the hide but Wilson has many great colors and specs, too. The way to break in a glove is to play catch. Put a fair amount (more than usual) of lanolin based glove conditioner on when you first get your new glove and throw into it with a weighted ball. At night, put a little bit more in and put a softball in it and wrap it around with a belt repeat this but without the glove conditioner after a couple of days. For some reason, Wilson really pushes for the hot water method, which is a better way to speed up the process, but still the water messes up your leather. Only do the hot water method if you're willing to get a new glove every year. Never put your glove in the microwave nor steam it. If you really insist, then out on a protectant so your glove won't totally die, but the heat in these two methods KILLS your glove. I also don't recommend using non lanolin based oil or conditioner. I have hade many Rawlings gloves. I have had 3 to this date and the 4th to come. Rawlings has very durable leather. The one I have now I have been using for 3 year. I play AAU, Middle School, Babe Ruth and their All Stars. I have played well over 125 games with this glove, and it looks like new and never had to be re-lace it before. But Rawlings just doesn't just have some of the finest gloves, there bats are great and are comparable to TPX, Easton, and more. But that is not only coming from me but from some of the top collages in the US. Overall, I think Rawlings is the best Glove brand out their and will be for a while.

Just because someone owns a glove, doesn't make it the best glove in the world. The reviews of these other glove brands are mostly trash. My Rawlings Derek Jeter glove has kept its sharp for 4 years and the leather and laces are still in beautiful shape (I clean/condition it every few months). Buy these gloves. If you're going to spend a lot of money on a kid glove, I suggest waiting for them to be strong enough to break in the high quality leather. Bigger people will have no problem breaking in these awesome gloves, and they last for a LONG time.

They are great gloves for two years... And then they fall apart, or the leather padding wears down, or the web pops out, or whatever problem could come. I've only bought Rawlings over my 13 years playing baseball, but I just bought a Nokona because I'm tired of spending $150-$200 every two years on a new glove when I could pay $400 for a Nokona that will last forever. I play around 120 games a year, sometimes more, and I throw every day or every other day depending on what part of the year it is, and the Rawlings gloves can't handle that.

This was a hard decision beween rawlings and wilson I own both of these brands I play catcher 3rd and ss I like wilsons infield gloves better but no glove I've used compares to rawlings catchers gloves and I am a primary catcher I don't have to worry about dropped 3rd strikes or anything like that w ith rawlings. I am very confident and being confident will boost your performance a ton other catchers gloves like mizuno and wilson I've had a lot of experiences where the ball pops out a lot but rawlings never.

I own a pro preferred gold glove limited and an a2000 which I have just purchased. I personally love my pro preferred and would recommend it to anyone however I ordered a custom a2000 and it is very comparable. Before I had bought my pro preferred I was also looking at the a2000 and thought it was a little soft but then I herd that they pre brake-in all the a2000 in the factory. So that why I got mine custom and had it made with the harder leather.

I have had a2000s and a2ks but nothing comes close to my pro preferred. I bought a pro preferred four years ago and last year I got a a2000. About half way through the season I started to see that the leather was breaking down and I had to replace it multiple times by the end of the season it was creaking in the liner and ripping. I went back to my pro preferred and it seemed like it was better leather and just more durable. I will never go back to Wilson

I own a pro preferred and an A2000 a easton e-pro and I've used my friends nokona. The pro preferred breaks in easy and nicely, I have had it for 4 years and all I've had to do was re-lace it I play 3 seasons a year and with that kind of usage most goves would be to beaten to use. It has only been relaced once that just shows the durability and strength. Rawlings has options for all players from pros to tball and they are the glove maker used by the most pro players

I personally own a Rawlings pro preferred and a Wilson a2000, now don't get me wrong, they are both great gloves but the Rawlings is stiffer and will last longer. Also I found over time the Wilson lost the pigment in the palm, from catching. Now unlike some people I have owned gloves in a similar price range and unless you have done that, your just comparing apples to oranges.
