While Mapel Skateboards is definitely not a gr34t brand, if you take care of the board it will serve you well. I have used my board pretty heavily for two years and then it sat in the garage. It still is in a good condition and I never had to replace any parts. Even with the plastic trucks it is pretty good for a beginner. the only issue is that the wheels loosen very quickly

I have a Maple deck for a couple years now. At first, it was really crap. I had to only kick turn it and learning tricks was a huge struggle with the trucks, so I got some Tensor trucks and some Santa Cruz wheels I had lying around. The deck still has held up trough multiple bowl rides, street skating sessions, and games of S.K.A.T.E. The deck is good, but only the deck.
