Metallica's The Unforgiven was the first song I have heard from them. With strong and soft vocals, calm acoustic strumming, and beautiful rhythm guitar playing by James Hetfield, simple (but strong) drumming by Lars Ulrich, Powerful bass playing by Jason Newsted, and of course, Kirk Hammett's head cutting solo, how can someone not love this song? The Unforgiven is one of the best, if not, the best song of Metallica's history.

Dave Mustaine once said he called up Lars and told him that this was the best song on the album. Now at the time Dave was written stuff like Sweating bullets and Tornado of souls, and his input tells you something about this song and it's power. It caused Dave to call up Lars, that's pretty awesome
