Not exactly terrifying. They just want to defend themselves. Luckily, I know a treatment for bee stings. If you get stung, get some baking soda and put it on your wound. The formic acid in the sting is neutralized by the base in the baking soda. I wanted to vote for Insects in general, but I couldn't find it. I guess I'll have to vote for the scariest insect of all. One time, when I was little, I was petting a bee and it stung me on the hand and my hand had big brown spots all over it.
