All the companies I've worked for have had Dell computers, and they have all been extra-susceptible to "bugs" of all kinds, constantly have errors popping up, running slow, freezing up, glitching like there is no tomorrow, and the lag time between clicking on something or pressing a button and when the desktop actually derides to do it is horrendous!I've always had an HP device at home since 2000, and I've NEVER EVER, EVER had any problems with any of them. Never had any problems with "bugs" or "viruses", never had problems with glitches, running slow, or hesitations...EVER! Never had any of the problems I have had and have now with working on Dells.Dell might make a nice monitor, but I would never waste money on their computers. HP is it for me. No problems means no hassles, no headaches, and no downtime.

I currently have HP desktop, and it was pretty cheap. It was an All in one PC and it was around $700 when I bought it, which is a cheap price for an All in one PC. (Most All in Ones are over $1000). It isn't working right now but its probably due to poor care. However, it lasted over 10 years! It would probably have lasted more if it had better care. But my point is, HP makes very affordable computers with very good specifications compared to other PC's. Even the computer I have right now which was bought in 2007, has way better specs than some MacBooka right now. In my opinion, if you want a computer that's affordable, has good internals, and lasts long, then HP is definitely the brand you should consider buying from.

Having worked as a PC repair engineer for 15 years, I have seen so many problems with so many different computer brands (HP included). However, in my experience, HP have pretty consistently built reliable, long lasting systems and I would consider them on average to be the most reliable brand. Dell are generally pretty good too but I have seen too many bad apples from them (particular models that are consistently problematic) and have therefore lost too much credibility for me to even think of saying that they are the most reliable of brands. Additionally, I feel that Medion is worth a mention but not enough of them going around for me to make a proper comparison. - wizardryuk

Hp is one of the biggest computer manufacturers in the world the quality that comes from their hardware is usually extremely good and lasts for a very long time I never had any technical issues with Hp unlike most. Hp is simply organized the way it should it is more developed then most manufacturers in everything: Laptops, stationary computers, servers, graphing calculators printer all in ones and so on.

I've owned Asus, HP and Dell over a few years. HP is by far the worst in customer service, laptop longevity. I had an Envy Notebook, replaced 5 hard drives two years and the company still would take it back. Between HP and Best Buy they are crooks. Time to go to Apple and get a laptop to last more than two years. A $1500 investment should last more than two years. I've owned three different HP laptops and every one lasted 24 months give of take a month. After the third time, no more HP products. Printers are no better, they want to charge you for software upgrades that should be limitless with the ownership of the printer. Going form windows 7 to 8 to 10 big deal. Stand behind your product HP!I've spent countless hours on the phone with HP customer service, it became cheaper and more efficient to order parts and do the work myself, at least then the (the Envy's hard drive lasted over a year). HP is the longest lasting most durable computer brand I have experienced. They just last and last whether it's a p c or laptop. I know other people that have had dell or apple and have had problems. HP is much Maligned for not being sexiest or fastest but you can configure it from economy to super deluxe. And the low end models outlast all their high priced competition. HP s can diagnose and fix themselves. If you want a solid reliable computer, buy a HP.
