He's in a position of being a manager over white workers who all respect him. He's the smartest, most well-read, funniest and wisest man on the farm and he's wiry and wonderful. I can ONLY see Morgan Freeman in this role as he has the kind of acting ego that becomes the character... he is probably my favorite American actor... I read the book
