He is regarded as the top goal scorer in the history of Uruguayan football with 495 goals in official tournaments (446 matches-goalscoring rate 1.11-very high) and the second highest goal scorer in the history of the Uruguayan Football Championship after Fernando Morena. A number of 40 more goals are not well verified.These statistics are not recognised till know from RSSSF.He's unofficially the 4th all time leading scorer of the National Cups worldwide.
