Of all the TWD characters, Eugene was originally the least prepared for an apocalypse. Eugene started out with less than novice fighting and survival abilities, and crucially the inability to relate to others- as though he were a martian dropped off onto earth amid the apocalypse for a sick jape.However he's since evolved arguably even beyond Carol Peletier. His survival, fighting, and social skills have each improved, and he's still maintained his awkward persona even in S7- and hopefully long after.
