For one, before I share my opinion, I'd like to say that I watched this movie at the same time as I watched the others because of age, so any movie I vote on has no nostalgic reasoning for me. There will be spoilers, so if you are like me, one of those people who read this lists before watching stuff, beware. :PSo, here is a summary of the movie. Ash, Misty, and Brock get a message to go to a strange island, but later a dangerous storm holds them and all the other trainers back. Later, they arrive at the island to find an intelligent Pokemon that can talk and has extremely powerful psychic powers. Everyone attempts battling it, but fails. Mewtwo wants revenge on humans because he was completely created as an experiment. He creates clones and makes the real Pokemon fight these clones. Mew, whom Mewtwo was cloned from battles Mewtwo, but Ash jumps between them and dies. All the Pokemon, including the clones cry, healing Ash with their tears. Nostalgia aside, this movie is not good. I mean, Mewtwo is the best part of the film and that isn't properly explored in the dubbed version of the movie. The original Japanese version better illustrates Mewtwo's character and motivation and that's the biggest reason to hold this film up. With that left out, there's not much to say positively about this movie.Its also ironic how hypocritical this film is. Nearing the end, Ash and co. realize that "Fighting is wrong", which makes no sense because the Pokemon series has always revolved around on fighting. Sure they mean "Violent fights", but that doesn't make it any better either. Also, when Ash gets resurrected, that was (let's be honest) a very stupid scene.In addition, people really need to stop calling this the best film in the series. There's a lot more than just "The First Movie" to be honest. - CrimsonShark
